Rule of Thumb to Internet Marketing

By: Vlad Ehrsam

The method to the "madness" of Internet marketing is confusing to most of us. If you're Internet savvy, you share the belief that "Internet websites must be filled with keyword enriched content". This isn't necessarily correct. Internet content needs to flow properly, make sense, and read easily; not consist of staggered keywords. Content is THE KEY!

Many of us have limited time and cannot be troubled to write the articles that will sell what our company has to offer. Also, many of us simply do not have the necessary skills.

Never try to fix what is not broken. Rather, use these four ideas to help liven up your Internet marketing copy.

One: Humorous Quotes are Always a Good Idea

Create a web page dedicated to famous and funny quotes. People often overlook this simple method of drawing traffic to their site. Use specialty books like: "Great Quotes from Great Leaders" by Peggy Anderson (Editor); and Michael McKee (Illustrator). You can begin by typing famous quotes into a search engine like Google. This will also lead you to websites that host famous and funny quotations.

Set aside some time to research "what's" available, until you find just the right quote. Copy and paste, or contract someone to write the quotations for you into a single web page. Include a link to your company's website, and watch how fast your site grows in popularity.

2. Internet Articles

It is rare for online copyright laws to be enforced so feel free to copy text, rewrite, and ultimately sell the material you locate. Pouring money into a copyright website is often not practical for a small business. However, at the end of the day, you do win. It is often simpler to research a topic and rewrite copy than to do everything on your own.

Never resort to "stealing" material as it is both unethical and illegal but there is nothing wrong with using material as a resource.

Three: Directory Pages are Your Friend

The popularity of the Internet is in no small part due to the fact that it is a great resource for locating information. Surfers are constantly browsing topics on self-improvement, home decor, and a number of products and services. Every link they use gets them that much closer to finding the information they seek. Your site would gain more traffic than you would think simply by adding in a directory page.

Including a directory means that your site is up there next to the search engine directories. Your site is also more likely to be added as a bookmark so people are likely to pay a return visit. Naturally, it would not do for you to lead surfers away from your own site. That is why you want to add links to sites that are not in competition with you and this will in turn increase traffic.

4. Free Content

Other people's work is the best time saver you can find. Why spend all of your time holed up next to the computer when the world is filled with writers just itching to take care of it for you? Use an online directory to find people willing to help you with your articles and help market your website. There is a site named www.arciticlecity.com that can help you locate the right writer for you and your business.

You'll end up with a fully functional website, in less time without the headaches. Content is very important, as is keywords. Why struggle with writing it, when lightning fast content is at your fingertips. All you need to do is look for it.
