Whenever there are two people together there will be jealousy. It doesn't matter if they are married or not. Jealousy is a phenomenon that is hard to grasp and even harder to deal with. As a part of a married couple, you would know whether you have the tendency to be jealous with reasons that are most often not justified enough. It also boils down to the feeling of possessiveness towards your partner which is the result of your love for each other. A man will naturally want to 'protect his territory'. This is why it is hard-wired into a man's behavior. This is as long as this 'territorial feeling' tends more to protect his partner and not be destructive. If you keep these goals in mind, you can try to not to curb your jealousy and use it in a more positive way to improve your relationship. 3. It is crucial that you track down the cause of these feelings. Usually there will be some type of fear on your side that is the cause for jealousy. This can also be caused by fear, or a past hurt that you have carried in to adulthood. There are many possible explanations for it - but in most cases there has been one particular incident that caused a person to be jealous from there. Try to look within yourself and find out the reason for this. Once you have determined the reason, you will have a better understanding of why you have such feelings and learn to deal with it better. 4. There are also other types of jealousy. You might be jealous because of the possibility that your partner may cheating on you. It could be that you are jealous of the things that your partner has and you do not. So you must address the root of the problem so you can better understand your own feelings. 5. Have you thought about what jealousy does to your partner? Very often jealousy can end in divorce if the couple cannot find a way to manage these feelings. How would you feel if your partner was jealous all the time and you think there is actually no reason for it? Put yourself in the situation of your partner and try to understand how your jealousy comes across. 6. Have a better sense of self to prevent irrational jealousy. If the root of your feeling stems from a low self-esteem, try to work on changing your attitude and learn to develop a greater feeling of self-worth. This would help you curb the irrational tendencies to be jealous and help heal yourself in the process. 7. Learn to accept risks. The feeling of jealousy is also caused by a fear of being disappointed and getting hurt in the process. However, there is no way you can rule out ever being disappointed. Life is full of ups and downs and there is no way to only take the ups fearfully avoiding the downs. This is why you must accept taking risks in life and love. If you learn to deal with these feelings you will be able to manage your jealousy and have a much happier relationship.
