Why is it that two different auctions will list the same exact DVD in the same exact condition, but the winning bid of one auction will be twice as much as the winning bid of the other? It all has to do with presentation. Look at it this way, if you were going to buy a new car would you want to buy it from a guy in an alley, or from a knowledgeable salesperson at a car lot. You would much rather buy a product from a knowledgeable professional. The same thing can be said for buyers on Ebay. They want to buy from a professional rather than out back in an alley. By no means am I knocking storing DVDs at your home and shipping them directly from there. What I am saying though is that you should make your Ebay auctions appear as though the DVDs are coming from a professional video distributor. What you need to do is create the right look and give off the best first impression. There are three key ingredients for creating auction pages that sell - the item description, the auction images and the auction template. Without these key ingredients, you aren't maximizing the potential of your eBay sales. Let's first discuss the auction description. The name of the DVD and the year it was released does not constitute an auction description. A great auction description will include a brief synopsis of the film, the special features of the DVD, the length of time, and the price (especially if it is well below retail price). The more you describe the item that is up for auction, the more likely that you will have a bid placed on it. Make sure that your auction description comes off to the buyer as being professional and that it is error-free. While the item description definitely plays an important role in the success of an auction, the images are just as vital. You want at least one great image to upload to your auction - preferably the cover of the DVD. If possible, get an image of the back cover and screen shots from the DVD if possible. As they say, a picture speaks a thousand words. Last but not least the auction template used in Ebay auctions is vital to getting the best price and selling the DVD. You can have the best looking pictures and the most professional sounding description, but if the template is in disarray no one will want to go through the headache of looking at your auction page. Make for certain that your auction template is arranged in an orderly method and gives the impression of a true professional. These are only three of the many variables that determine a successful listing from an unsuccessful listing. The time of day your auction is listed, the duration, auction title, and your feedback score also play an important part. If your not successful at first, try tweaking some more of these variables. Once you have the right combination, you can be just as successful as the top ebay sellers.
